Powell River Christian School is a multilevel learning space, with class groupings as follows:
*Preschool
*Kindergarten- Grade Two
*Grade Three- Grade Five
*Grade Six- Grade Nine
A number of years ago, a group of concerned Christian parents in
Powell River felt the need for a school that supported the values of
the Christian home in every area of school curriculum. They were
able to choose churches that reinforced their family values, but the
only way to have a school that would do this was to establish an
independent Christian school; one that was committed to their
Christian values. In 1993, this group of parents began to
develop and implement the Powell River Christian School.
Through hard work, perseverance and prayer, P.R.C.S. opened in
September 1994.
Powell River Christian School includes families from several
different denominations and has also opened its doors to include a
limited number of non-Christian families as well.
We (the supporters of Powell River Christian School) believe
that education is a joint effort between the home, school and
church; therefore, we stress the importance of strong parental
support and involvement. The Parent/Student Handbook details the
schools basic guidelines and expectations. As a pre-requisite for
registering your child at Powell River Christian School, we ask
all parents to carefully read this information and become familiar
with this handbook.
